Private Studio's History and Philosophy
Keyla Orozco started building up her private music studio in The Netherlands since 1996, teaching in the cities of The Hague, Amsterdam, and Harlem. In 2013, she moved to the US, where she established a new studio within the areas of Rockville (Maryland) and Washington DC. She has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students from different age groups, levels of knowledge, cultural backgrounds, and musical interests. Her teaching skills, which have grown through years of experience, include piano, composition/song-writing, theory, ear training, improvisation, general music, early childhood, and ensemble coaching.
Keyla is a classically trained musician. However, she is familiar with a variety of music styles (pop, blues, classical, latin) and instruction methods to adapt to student's needs. Pupils choose what they want to learn, and the teacher will guide them through the process.
Keyla Orozco is a teacher with high musical expectations. However, she likes to work with students at their own pace. It is one of her aims to give them confidence on their path to achieve their goals, as well as discipline and love for music. She believes every student's achievement in any art manifestation will later reflex in their professional careers and personal growth.
